Counselling Services

Having trained initially as a Family Therapist, Karrie has extensive experience in working with adults, teens and children however now mostly works with adults. She is informed by an attachment lens and is passionate about supporting adults to make sustained changes for themselves and the next generation.

Karrie’s areas of interest are:

  • Developmental trauma and exploring Systemic Family Patterns

  • Attachment, Identity, and search for meaning

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)

  • Relationships, Communication, and the way we Connect with others

  • Anxiety, Grief, Depression, and mood regulation

  • Parenting consultation

Supervision Services

Karrie provides individual supervision for counsellors, therapists, and other health professionals. Her supervision is informed by the Reflective Learning Model which encourages a deepening understand in the work, reflecting on, and give conscious consideration to, what occurs during the counselling session. Karrie believes supervision is a space to explore the process and content of counselling as well as, building professional skills, ensuring safety and clinical effectiveness of practice.

Qualifications

Karrie has a Master of Education/Counselling (Hons) from the University of Auckland.  She has worked in a various Social Service Agencies, a private School in Auckland and now also in Private Practice.  She is a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and abides by their Code of Ethics.

 

As a supervisor for a range of mental health practitioners, Karrie has a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision from the University of Auckland.
